Detailed Itinerary

Day 01 : Saigon arrival

Upon arrival at the Tan Son Nhat airport, our guide and driver will pick us up and transfer us to the hotel for check-in.

Overnight in Saigon.
Day 02 : Saigon to Cu Chi Tunnels – Ben Tre

After our breakfast at the hotel, we take a half day city tour by visiting the War Remnants Museum to learn about the Vietnam War. We stroll past the scenes of everyday life on the way to the colonial quarter of Ho Chi Minh city. The city is home to beautiful architectures of the Opera House, the City Hall, the old Saigon Post Office, and more structures. We can hear about the glory days of French Indochina and how the modern Vietnamese culture continues to be influenced by the era.

In the late afternoon, we are picked up for departure through the countryside to the Cu Chi Tunnels. Our afternoon is spent exploring this incredible network of underground tunnels, 200 kilometers long and learn about its construction by the Vietnamese resistance fighters during the French and American wars. We crawl underground to see the relics of the wartime weapons and hear wonderful stories of the resistance and their life of turmoil in the labyrinth of caves and tunnels.

Upon finishing, we transfer to Mekong Delta (Ben Tre province). It takes around two and a half hours arriving at Ben Tre center. We check-in at the hotel for an overnight stay.

Overnight in Ben Tre.
Included meals: Breakfast
Day 03 : Ben Tre to Cho Lach Bicycle Tour – Can Tho

After breakfast at the hotel, we take a bicycle to visit around Cho Lach with the famous Bonsai Garden which is the most beautiful in the Mekong Delta and then visit Cai Mon Church. We get back to the hotel and are free until transfer to Can Tho. It takes a near 3-hours drive to get to the hotel where we check-in for the night.

Overnight in Can Tho.

Note: Hotel has about seven bicycles for the tour.
Included meals: Breakfast
Day 04 : Can Tho to Cai Rang Floating Market – Chau Doc

After breakfast at the hotel, we visit the Cai Rang floating market, one of the most beautiful and busiest markets in the Mekong Delta. We start a boat trip from the Ninh Kieu boat station and cruise along the Can Tho River within bustling water traffic. We get an excellent chance to capture vivid images of the lively floating markets which start from twilight. The travelers can witness the enthralling beauty of the place. The native people are seen hustling to the pool, paddling their way and riding different kinds of boats for carrying other types of farm products to market for selling. Unlike other forms of market, the floating markets in the Mekong Delta have a colorful advertising culture which is enhanced by the products being hung on bamboo poles to show other traders what their boats are selling. From coffee, fruits, meat, shrimps, and fishes to the lottery tickets are all traded on the boats.

Cruising back to Can Tho city. The driver picks us up for transfer to Chau Doc. It takes a nearly 3-hour drive to get Chau Doc.

Overnight in Chau Doc.
Included meals: Breakfast
Day 05 : Chau Doc to Phnom Penh by Speedboat

We have our breakfast at the hotel and transfer to the pier for a speedboat to Phnom Penh. Day 06 : Phnom Penh to Kompong Thom

After our breakfast at the hotel, we visit the Royal Palace which is a royal residence to His Majesty, the King of Cambodia and the royal families. We continue to Silver Pagoda. The structure is a repository for cultural treasures and serves little as a temple. It houses a 90 kg golden Buddha statue encrusted with 2086 diamonds. We visit the Tuol Sleng Museum (S-21 prison). It holds a dark past as it was used as a prison by Pol Pot's security forces where more than 17,000 people between 1975 and 1978, were held at and taken to the "Killing Fields" at Choeng Ek for execution. We then drive to visit the "Killing Fields" of Choeng Ek, a wartime execution camp about 15 km south of Phnom Penh. The 17,000 prisoners including men, women, children, infants, and foreigners were detained and tortured at the S-21 prison and transported to the extermination camp of Choeng Ek. We transfer overland to Kompong Thom by a private car and our tour guide.

Overnight in Kompong Thom.
Included meals: Breakfast
Day 07 : Kompong Thom to Siem Reap

After breakfast at the hotel, we depart with an English speaking guide on a private air-conditioned vehicle, for an exploration of the Sambor Prei Kuk's temples. It is undoubtedly the most beautiful example of the Pre Angkorian art from the seventh century. We continue to discover the Kampong Khleang which is located about 50km from Siem Reap town by boat. The road leading to the site is good but slightly narrow. On this boat trip, we explore the floating villages that live on edges of the lake, passing submerged forest and fishing farms: arrival in Siem Reap, check-in at the hotel.

Overnight in Siem Reap.
Included meals: Breakfast
Day 08 : Siem Reap to Angkor tour

Breakfast at the hotel. We start our sightseeing tour by bike to the Angkor area where we spend our day exploring the spectacular ancient ruins. Famous for its series of giant human faces carved in stone at the South Gate of Angkor Thom, the impressive Bayon Temple, the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephant Terrace, the Terrace of the Leper King and Angkor Wat temple complex which is the largest and the most complete temple. This 12th-century architectural masterpiece covers an area of about 210 hectares. We then continue to Preah Khan, built in 1191 during the reign of King Jayavarman VII; a warrior king celebrated for reconstructing the once fragmented Khmer Empire. In 1165, when Jayavarman rushed home from the Cham Kingdom, he arrived too late to prevent Tribhuvanadityavarman from crowning himself as the King of the Khmers at the island of Neak Pean.

We continue our visit to the temple of Ta Prohm. The jungle covered temple is an astounding sight. Enormous fig trees and gigantic creepers embrace the stone foundations of the structure. Such a view gives us an impression of the powerful forces of nature reclaiming man's creation.

Overnight in Siem Reap.
Included meals: Breakfast
Day 09 : Siem Reap to Banteay Srei

Early morning, we wake up to view the sunrise at Angkor Area – the reflection of the amazing Angkor temple in the morning sun is a sight to behold. We return to the hotel for breakfast. We head out of town as we make our way through a newly paved road to the temple of Banteay Srei which is intricately carved and very well preserved. On route, we stop over at the Preah Dark village and follow up with a visit to the Banteay Samre Temple. The temple adorned with impressive reliefs depict scenes of Hindu and Buddhist legends. We explore this masterpiece, and some of the temples nearby which includes Banteay Kdei, Sra Srong, Ta Keo, Thommanon and Chau Say Tevado. Our afternoon concludes with a visit to the grand circuit with Preah Khan, Neak Pean, Kravan, Krol Ko, East Mebon, Ta Som and Pre Rup Temples and a walk up to Phnom Bakheng Hill for a spectacular sunset view over these sandstone monuments.
